WrightThere was a large attendance, and a very pleasant time was spent l»y all. Mr Hatliaway, on behalf of those present, congratulated Lance-Corp. Wright on hir. return. Lance-corporal Wright, who now appears to be in good health and spirits, had a severe time, having lost a lee; and also sustaining 13 running wounds, which have now healed- On a reception was tendered to Wright, Privates Karalus, Kirby, and Trooper Jones, the schoolroom being crowded. On Monday night Mr V. Kovaluski gave a house evening in honor of his son-in-law, Trooper Jdiies. Among those present were practically all the returned soldiers from the Croydon road settlement. Corporal Jones is the proud possessor of a silver cup which he won in a- riding competition in Egypt. Member? of the Stratford School Committee proposed making a presentation to Mr Penn, who had held the position of secretary to the committee for over 20 years, but as Mr Penn expressed the wish that no presentation be matte, as he did not desire anything more than that his name should be recorded on the books, no action was taken. Attention please! Although the holiday season is advanced there is yet ample time to secure that gift or present. Don't go out of Stratford for the article. Call and see C. E. James' stock.
