THE GIBRALTAR QUESTION. Received Feb, 5, 7.20 p.m. London, Feb. 3. Merry del Val, Spanisli Ambassador, in a letter to the press on behalf of the Madrid Government, denies that Spain approached any Government regarding the return of Gibraltar. The ambassador states that the object of the invention is to estrange Britain and Spain at a peculiarly critical moment. The source of this intrigue is well known and is not Spanish.—Aus. N.Z.
