WEATHER REPORT.

FOR JANUARY, ISIS. (Taken at Pufolcura Parle meteorological Btatton; altitude 160 ft.) The records of the month show low temperatures due to lack of sunshine with chilly winds nnd excessive humidity. There were no high winds or storms during the month. Cloudiness, composed chiefly of cumulus and nimbus, was also excessive, or 38 per cent, higher than in any corresponding month for fourteen years. The temperatures recorded were 7% decrees lower than those for the corresponding summer period for ten years. Heavj- fog was noted on the night and morning of the £2nd and 24t*n. Phenomenally heavy rain occurred during the night of the 27th and 31st. Snow fell on the upper >OOO feet of Mt. Egmont on the Ist, 2nd, 3rd ; 4th, sth, 21st and 27th, Light thunderstorms occurred on the 28th at 5 p.m., and 29th at 3 a.m. Following are the records of the month:
