Official: Although the monarchists at Braganza, Lisbon and Vizen have been crushed as military civilians, the Aviero district is seeking to revive the quiurrel among tho Republicans. The Government has resigned in order not to weaken Republican forces at the present grave juncture, and continues to conduct affairs until a new Cabinet has been formed. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
LISBON UNDER MARTIAL LAW. Madrid, Jan. 23. Martial law has been declared in Lisbon. The Monarchist batteries at Opporto drove off a Republican gunboat, compelling it to return to Lisbon.—Aus.N".Z.
