SPLTT IN UNIONIST RANKS. ANTI-PARTITION LEAGUE FORMED.

As the result ol a split in the rauks of the Irish Unionist Allinnce a new anti-partition league has been formed, with Lord Midleton as chairman, the league being determined to maintain the union with Britain. Sixty prominent southern Irish Unionists joined the league. —Reuter Lord Midleton':? anti-partition league includes tv.clu? Irish peers. A number of large landowners have joined the movement.
The new league considers that Ulster possesses undue influence in Irish Unionist politics. The Irish Unionist Alliance subseouentiy issued a statement denying that it favored partition. On the contrary, its members are unalterably opposed to home rule for the whole or any part of Ireland.
The Morning Post expects the schism will have far-reaching consequences, and eays the seceders apparently anticipate another attempt to enforce home rule. Their object in that case will be to prevent a partition It is reported iV.ac the Irish Government is releasing the Irish prisoners interned in England.—United Service.
