BAYLEY'S STATEMENTS Wanganui, Jan 28. The committee appointed to inquire into certain statements made by Mr. Bayley, prohibition lecturer at Palmerston North, find they were made on information supplied "to him by a returned officer, which he believed to be true- At the same time the committee feel that Mr Bayley committed a grave error of judgment. In a letter to the committee Mr Bayley expresses says the responsibility for spreading the incident Dcyond Palmerston must rest on other 'shoulders.
