RETURNING SOLDIERS.
THE MALTA FROM EGYPT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 27. The Malta arrived at 7,2 a a-iii- from Egypt witli troops. PNEUMONIA CASES. Later. The Malta arrived here this morning from Ej(yni. with troops. On the trip across the Indian Ocean some 2GS Raratangans showed slight pneumonia symptoms, and 17 were landed at Fremantie. Eight more cases were discovered on the voyage from Fremantlo to Wellington, six of these 'being Rarotongans And two others New Zealand soldiers, one an officer. All the Rarotongan soldiers and contacts have been landed on Somes Island, as well as the two New j.'Zealand soldiers affected. AH oiiher 'troops, after being inoculated and passed through the inhalation chamber, are to be allowed to land to-morrow morning. ' HOSPITAL SHIP ARRIVES. Auckland, Jan. 2i. The Mar am a arrived with 657 of all ranks. She had 300 cot cases when she left England, but the number was greatly reduced during the exceptionally good trip via Panama Canal. Mr. Massey and Sir .'loseph Ward ; visited the vessel at ColonPrivate P. E. J. Tavindale, 01 Kaiapox, died of illness during tha voyage.
