Sydney, Jan. 27. • Anniversary Day was celebrated in fln«i weather. Sports, races and regatta were revived under pre-war conditions.
The Anniversary Handicap resulted: Arch Marella 1, Phast Boy 2, Greg 3. Tea started, including Bee and Finmark. Won* jby a length and a half. Tine, a™'" 32&8ec.
OPUNAKE RACING CLUB. A committee meeting of the Opunako Racing Club was held on Friday evening.
The Eecretai'3' was instructed to communicate with district bands for tlie races, also to receive oilers for catering, publican's liooth and totalisator. Mie question of improvements to the appointments and course, which the club intend undertaking' on a largo scale, was deferred until tie committee had mora particulars in hand
The secretary reported that the property purchased from Mrs S. Campbell had been ploughed up, and that the new racing track, which would extend into this portion, ha.d beeu surveyed and pegged off.
