OPENING TO-DAY. A number of visiting bowlers arrived m town on Saturday jaight in readiness for the annual bowling tournament held under the auspices of the Taranaki Centre, which is to be held on the thre# local greens this week, opening at 1 p.a. today. This tournament ia always looked 1 forward to eagerly by local ar.d visiting bowlers, and this year's fixture promises to be even more successful than any of its predecessors. There are record entries, representative of every affiliated club in Taranaki, with the exception'of whilst outside clubs represented Wanganui, Palmerston, Wellington, T«rihape, Waveriey and Patea. For the convenience of visiting bowlers not engaged in tournament matches, a green is available at the West End Club grounds.
Bowlers are reminded that only toted bowls cart be used during this tournament and Mr. A. K. Smart will be on the New Plymouth green this HUKBimr to test bowls. , £
