EVIDENCE AT INQUEST VERDICT OF MURDER

At ihe Seton inquest it was stated that Major Soton frequently visited Mrs. Rutherford during her huslmnd's absence.
The coroner read Mrs. Rutherford's letter of last October 'begging her husband to divorce her. A verdict of wilful murder was returned.
Mrß. Rutherford, who is a handsome woman, was present at tlia inquest. Mrs. Rutherford's maid gave evidence that the marriage was an unhappy one, and that on the day of the tragedy he locked his wife in her room.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
