TELEPHONE CABLES DESTROYED. ENGINE SPARKS LIGHT GRASS. Ey Telegraph.—Pre;e ..'jsosiation. Christchurcli, Last Night. Sparks from tho engine of a passing train ignited the dry grass in front of the Post and Telegraph Department's store at Addington to-day The fire spread to sixty or seventy reels of telephone cable, aud 'before it was extinguished every one of these was more of less seriously damaged. Though (here will be some salvage the loss will run into several thousands of pounds, the material not being insured
