! MEETING OF LOCAL TRUSTEES. Tiie New Plymouth trustees 01 the Efficiency Board met yesterday moming.Present: Messrs T, Furlong (chairman), E Whittle, and F J. Hill (secretary). The board dealt with several eases relating to soldier# on active service. One was regarding adv-« received from the Base Decofds Office concerning the official reports reeeivpd from the United Kingdom. A second dealt with present regulations and provisions for the continuance of children's allowance ttftei- a child attains the age oi 10 years The Commissioner also forwarded for consideration a series oi articles on post-wai reconstruction. A returned soldier wrote from Hawke's Ba_i, explaining lus position with regard to life insurance policies, jwd statin.!!, there was a dagger of the policies lapsing. He asked the board to take action and get in touch with the authorities with a view to protecting his interests A young lady in the country wrote on behalf of a younger sister anil herself, applying for her brother's pension llflr parent's were dead, and the brothei referred to had made the supreme sacrifice on Gallipoli. Both sisters liad suffered badly from illness, and they found jcime difficulty* 111 struggling ftlortg, Is living got cleaver and harder —The Trustees decided to submit tli. ea?e to the, Pensions Department. Three other matters were also cor shiered And recommendations made.
