(Erom Our Own Correspondent) Inglewood, Jan. 22. Adjutant Parsons, who has been k, charge of the Salvation Army work here for the past twelve months, leave* tomorrow morning for Woodville, wMthor he has been transferred. The adjutant's many friends wish him every snows* in nis new sphere of work Captain SMlton, of Dunedin North, will succeed him. Mr. Luke, seed merchant, has on view a sheaf of oats which is attracting men attention here just now. The stalks average 5 J feei high, some of whkij,are one inch around at the base, The'aari are laden wtth com, one plant having produced 150 grains. The plants were grown from Victorian Algerian seed by Mr. A. Gamlb on his Bristol Road farm, where sixty acres are being harvested. The Marist Brothers have acquired a portion of the Vickers estate, where a college for boys will shortly to erected.
