A telegram addressed to his Worship th« Mayor, \>as received ou Tuesday fttternoou from Cencral Pau: —"1 expected that I should be able to call with the member! of tlio French Mission at A T ew Plymouth, but unfortunately tha state of ray health prevented me from doing this, and I desire to express to your Worship and to the people of New Plyouth our tteecji arid sincere regret. We realise that "we are thus missing a most pleasaat and interesting trip as well as a visit to sincere and devoted friends, of France."
