NO PROSPECTS OF AMALGAMATION PROFESSIONAL REGULATIONS UNMODIFIED. London, Jan. 15. As Ritgbv Union and Northern Union players freely played together in army matches during the war period it was anticipated in some quarters that the Rugby Union would permit a compromise with the Northern Union after the war, but the committee last night passed a resolution refusing to modify the professional regulations beyond allowing the present position to continue until the end of the season There is every prospect of a great Rugby tournament to wind up-the season. The Xew Zealanders' activity is inspiring the British forces to find their strongest teams. The Air Force has prepared an extensive series of trial games, and a committee has been appointed to choose an army team to meet the New Zealandors on March 15.—-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assoc.
