.EVERYBODY'S. CARLYLE BLACKWELL AND JUNE ELVIDQE IN "BROKEN TIES." "Broken Ties," which commneces a two-night season at Everybody's tonight, is by World, and it has tkrte star players. They are June Elvidge, Caxlyle Blackwell, and Arthur Ashley. The film is made strictly in accordance with World ideas; that is to say it is a domestic drama, with enough social scenes thrown in to make the story sweet. It is the tale of a husband who i j more interested in his work than in his home life, and as a natural consequence the man and woman fall np*rt, and the rift continually widens The story is well acted, with many dramatic incidents that hold up the tale as it progresses to a fins, imposing conclusion. The supporting bill has been selected with care, and covers a variety of interest. The subjects include a Pathe Gazette, ''Kangaroos and their Allies" (nature study), "A Matrimonial Accident" (comedy), and the fifteenth episode of ''The Great Secret."

THE PEOPLE'S. THEDA BARA IN "A FOOL THERE WAS." The great 9creen artiste Theda Bara appears to-night in her really great success, "A F>-.0l There Was." Even more artiatie than the Hall Caine story is this Theda Bara picture, "A Fool There Was," which gives her probably her best vampire role It ia true that it pictures the degradation of what was a fine man, distinguished and worthy, who falls under the sway of the adventuress, but there is nothing sloppy in its relentless showing of the fact. It is an unpleasant, but a remarkably ably directed and actrd picture. The plot carries the man from the heights of public esteem to the depths when her "Kiss me, you fool," will make him turn from the appeal of wife and child and cling, the slobbering idiot, around the siren's neek. A particularly bright sunshine comedy, "Hungry Lions in a Hospital," is also on the bill.
