WOOL BROKERS' PROTEST By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Jan 18 The Wool Brokers' Association has forwarded a protest to the Minister of Imperial Supplies against the smpment from Gisborne of a thousand hales of scourings, which it is contended can be easily handled locally, whilst its shipment elsewhere represents a loss to the Imperial authorities of 10s per bale.

WELLINGTON'S MILK SUPPLY Wellington, Jan- 13. On Monday, the war regulations governing the sale of millc in boroughs will eome into operation in Wellington. Ne other place in New Zealand is concerned. The regulations were gazetted in September last, but do not apply except in boroughs "declared" by the Minister for Internal Affaire. On and after Monday it will be "unlawful fni any person, whether as principal, agent, or otherwise (other than the corporation and its servants or agents)— (a) to sell milk, or (b) to deliver milk in pursuance of a contract cf sale made, whether within the borouuh or elsewhere; or (c) to haw milk in hi» possession for sale,, saye under a license issued in that behalf by the council of tho borough, and in accordance with the terms arid conditions ! thereof" The City Council* njw scheme will, therefore, "operalo from Monday next when the council will have practicfllly a monopoly
