PROPOSED EDUCATIONAL ENTENTE.
BETWEEN PRANCE AND N£W ; ZEALAND. OUTLINES OF SCHEME. Bj Talegrayh.—Press AsMciatica,. Wellington, Jan. 18.The possibility of an entente in ed.il cation betweea France and Noyt Zetland was mentioned by Dr. Siegfried, of the French Mission, in conference with the Minister for Education, the eh airman of Victoria College Council, and the professors of the college. In the course of discussion, the idea was generally approved that it would be an immense advantage if arrangements could be made for the interchange of professors and promising pupils (particularly those , engaged in scientific research). Dr. Siegfried stated that he would do his best to further the Minister's suggestion in France. Mr. Hanan il.-'-u remarked that he fully appreciated the object put forward, and suggested that some good work might be dene in the way ol correspondence with Franco. Be would obtain from the professors of the universities, lecturers of high school*, and headmasters ,of primary schools th» names of students who were capable of corresponding with students in France.
