fHLI PRICE 01''.LEATHER, Christ-church, Jan M At a meeting of the executive of the Christ eburo'j branch of the New Zealand limit Manufacturers' Association to-day the following resolution was carried: "That a letter ba written to the Board of Trade asking if the Board intends to fix the price of leather to iboot manufacturers before it fixes the price of standardised boots and fdioes, and, in tho event of the price of ..leather being fixed, to acquaint brother manufacturers thereof; and that the board be informed that Ciiristchm-ch, as a boot manufacturing centre, lias not yet had an opportunity to, inspect the samples of tlie proposed standardised boots and shoes. Board of Trade , Boot ~manufacturers now, complain that the price of leather has been advanced since the standardisation scheme was first considered. The Minister has instructed the Board of Trade to inquire whether the increase is a fair one.
