THE NEW "K" BOATS. WHICH HELPED TO DEFEAT GERMAN y. SOME INTERESTING DETAILS. Received Jan. 17, 5.5 p.m. London, Jan. 14. Details which have been revealed of the British cruisers called "K boats" show that they are propelled by steam, have two funnels, are 2000-ton ships, measure 340 feci long with 20Vi feet beam surface. They liavs a spec.', of 24 knots, .and when submerged 10 knots, and a range of 3000 miles, carrying eight or ten torpedo tubes, while their guns are big enough to match anyth'ng except of a dreadnought or battle-cruiser. The part they played in defeating Germany cannot yet lie disclosed, but they proved one of the most valuable arms of the navy.—Aus N.Z. Cable Assoc. FRENCH STEAMER MINED. 500 LIVES LOST.
