In the Singles Championship at the close of the second day's play. Section A saw Franks (Stratford), Stokes (Grey Lynn), and Black (Auckland) leading with 4 wins and 1 loss, Fookcs (New Plymouth) 1 win and 3 losses, .

Section B—Woolf (United) 4 wins. C Jackson (Stratford) bad retired with 1 win and 2 losses

Section C—J. S. Rowe (Stratford), with Harraway (Dunedin) and Jury (Karangahake), wete level with 4 wins and 1 loss.

Section D saw 'Vakerlcy (Rocky Nook) leading with 4 wins. The Straiford pair, Harris and Sangster, were well out, with 1 win each.

Sec lion E—The Carlton representative, (".'oilman, led with 4 wins, Jonas Masters (Stratford) scored 3 wins and 2 losses. Section C —Walker (Ponsonby) still led with 4 wins, S: -Sharp (Stratford) being next in the running with 4 wins and 1 loss. In the seventh round the players were split np again, the first portion being reserved to these undefeated and the second portion to those who had only one loss against them. In the play that followed, Coif man (Carlton) 22 defeated Wakerley (Rocky Nook) IS; Walker (Ponsonby IS defeated Sawyer (Ka.hutea) 14; Spiler (Greymouth) 18 defeated Woolier 10; Woolf (United) 23 defeated Stokes (Grey Lynn) 17. Play with those 1 down;—Pilkington 21 vPardons 20; Sharp (Stratford) 33 v Ure 15; Franks (Stratford) was anted here, scoring 17 against Black's 19. In the eighth round, Walker 22 beat SpiUor IS, and Sharp 19 prevailed over Black 14. Walker scored another win in the ninth round, totalling against Coltman's 22. Sharp was also successful against Jury 22-18

The tenth round was incomplete Walker 20 had a narrow margin against llantell 19. Sharp had to meet Woolier) and Coltman plays Spillcr on a day to t>e arranged. '
