THE FINAL OBSEQUIES.

Mr Taft and Mr Hughes were promihent among the mourners at Colonel Roosevelt's funeral. Mr Taft was in tears during the committal service and the ex-Speaker, Mr Joseph Cannon, was visibly affected.
The streets of the village were crowd' ed with silent mourners.
The Colonel's favorite hymn, "How Firm a Foundation," was recited toy the rector.
The flowars at the grave were those from his ex-Rough Rider comrades in the Spanish-American War, but hundreds of wreaths filled the church. President Wilson has issued a proclamation stating that Colonel Roosevelt, when president, displayed administrative powers of a high order/ and distinguished himself in the Spanish war.
