After the secretary of the Seamen's Union had accepted the Union Company's terms on behalf of the man, a meeting of tho latter refused to endorse tho secretary 1 a action, and ■> deadlock ensued. Seeing the feeling of the men, the union officials decided not {o push tho matter, and adjourned the meeting until 10 o'clock oa Monday, wton it was hopp-d that mora reasonable counsels would prevail One of Siom present subsequently stated that the meeting did not represent the majority of inemlbers, and if Monday's meeting is representative ha is sure it will revisa the previous decision.
