DEPUTATION TO SIR JAMES ALLEN, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchureh, Jan. 9. The position of some members of the early New Zealand reinforcements who •re still in France was placed before Sir James Allen. An illustration was taken of a man who left New Zealand with lie earry reinforcements as a private and later was promoted to officers' rank, returning to New Zealand on duty, and, after spending some time in camp here, was sent back to the front, say with the 35th Reinforcements. The reinforcement to which he officially belongs win make a great difference in the demobilisation, and might even mean twelve months' longer stay in Europe. The Minister said a man's posi' would depend on the leave he had had and the view taken by tiie officer commanding the New Zealand forces abroad. His own opinion was, as a matter of fairness and common-sense, that the man should for the purpose of demobilisation belong to his first reinforcement'
