' New York, Jan. 6. Dispatelies from Archangel say that the Americans- drove back the 'Bolsheviks near Kadish after desperate fighting.

American officers report that the Bolsheviks mutiliated American soldiers.— Aus.-NZ. Cable Assn. New York, Jan. 8. The United Press Berlin correspondent states that although Bolshevism is generally an intellectual movement, unattended by violence, it is growing slowly, due to several causes, nameiy, Russian agitators spending money and spreading propaganda freely among German workmen, and the growing fear of the extent to which capitalism intends to exploit Germany through want of, employment and food.—Aus.-N.Z. Received Jan. 7, 9.30 p.m. Stockholm, Jan. 0. General Brusiloff is reported to have been killed at Moscow, and Kuropatkin to have been murdered at Omsk.
