(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, Jan. 6.
Business men state tliat the Christmas trade has beeu quite satisfactory, tlie returns being up to previous years. The holidays passed off quietly, there being a general exodus of citizens from Inglewood. The sands of New Plymouth attracted large numbers, many of whom are residing there during the holidays. The Mayor (Mr. George Young) lias returned from the hospital looking very fit, and leaves this week for the south to recupeerate. Private G. H. Raynor, of Inglewood, iu returning with the 203 rd draft, which ii expected shortly.
Adjutant Parsons, who has had charge of the Salvation Armv Corps for the past year, has received marching orders, and leaves for fields anew this month.

September, 12.46, 18; October, 9.73, 22; November, 7.32, 22; December, 9.32, 12. Total, 107.44, 199. Heaviest fall on April S, 4.71. Rainfall since 1915:—Year 1915, total 97.36, number of days on which rain fell 173, heaviest fall July 21, 6.42; lOlfi, 90.60, 158, November 178, April 15, 3.-28; 1918, April 8, 4.7. The rainfall at "Riversdale" (Inglewood) for December, 1918, wa's:—ll 32, on 17 days; heaviest falls, 351 on the 4th and 3.27 on the 28tli. Rainfall for 1918, 117,96 in on 208 days. In 1917 the total rainfall was 36.99, on 196 days. Last year's total ia the largest since 1909, when 119.70 in fell.
