NEW YEAR HONORS.
THE NEW ZEALAND RECIPIENTS. Mr. Justice Edwards is a native oi London, where he was born in September, 1850. He came to Duuedin in 1855, and was educated at the High School, where lie gained special prizes for English essays. After a visit to Europe, lie was articled to Messrs Julius and O'Meagher, of Oamaru. He was made a ■barrister in 1875, and was in practice in Oamaru and Wellington, In 18!K) he was made "a Judge of tho Supreme Court and Native Commissioner. He became President of the Arbitration Court in 1898. In the legal profession he is counted as one of the shrewdest lawyers now on the judicial bench. c Mr. J. J. Kinsey is the senior member of the firm of Messrs Kinsey Barns, and Co., shipping agents, of Christchurch. He was prominently connected with all the Antarctic expeditions which have recently been organised. He acteil as New Zealand agent for both the late Captain Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton.
Colonel G, F. C. Campbell has been associated with the Civil Service of this country since 1874, holding important positions from the commencement of his career. He has always taken a keen interest in military matters, and has been actively associated with the administration therewith- He has always been a leading spirit in Wellington in connection with Rugby football matters. Mr. W. R- Morris is a native of Dublin, where he had preliminary experienw as a postal official. He came to Lytteiton in 1874, and after serving in the Christehurch and Wellington money order offices, u'as made Assistant-Secretary in 1907. He was a founder V>f the Post and Telegraph Rifles.
