Tme New York Herald, commenting on the disposition of the Gentian colonies, says it is certain the German colonies will not' be returned to Germany. It must be decided whether they will be distributed among the Allies or placed under international .control, The latter seems impracticable, Britain's colonies should be consulted in settling the question. The Union of South Africa defeated the Germans .in South-west Africa It was, therefore, ju§t* to consider South Africa's claims regarding the territory she conquered. Australasia can present similar claims regarding the former German possessions in the Pacific.
