TRAMWAY TROUBLES.
. THE POSITION AT DUNEDIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Dec. 27. The position in regard to the tramway dispute is that the union state they are prepared to meet the employers in accordance with the request of the Minister, provided such conference takes place immediately The union further state that they are willing to resume normal running, provided all the men suspended or dismissed since the 14th inst. are unconditionally reinstated in their former positions. The town clerk, in reply, states Tfiat before the council could be recommended to take further action, the cußers of the union must first revert to the running of the cars to schedule time. If that course is followed steps will be taken to bold a conference.
SETTLEMENT AT CHRISTGHUROH. Christcliurch, Dec. 27. A conference to-day of representatives of the Tramway Board and the Tramway Union agreed to reinstate six motormen and one conductor dismissed while the go-slow policy was in operation, and also to allow them half-pay during the time they were off "duty. The question of a futther iflcreSso ii\ wages will bo referred to the Arbitration Court.
WELLINGTON DIFFICULTY SETTLED. Wellington, Dec. 27' The tram trouble has feen settled, the council agreeing to favorably Te-consider the reinstatement, of Motorman Fraser.
