ELECTION RESULTS.
SOM3 OF THE RETURNS. Received Dec. 27, 8.15 p.m. London, Dec. 23. At the elections, the National University of Dublin returned .John McNeill, a Sinn leiner, who secured 1044 votes, against Professor Conway, a Nationalist, 713. Two Coalitionists, including the Rt. Hon. Hal Fisher, Minister for Education, have been elected for the English provincial universities. A. W. Samuels (Unionist, the sitting member) defeated Steven Gwynnc for Dublin University by a large majority. Sir Philip Magnus (sitting member), a Coalitionist, defeated Sidney Webb, a Laiborite, for London University by a majority of 069.—Aus, N.Z. Cable Association.
Received Dec. 27, 1.30 a.m.' London, Dec. 24John McNeil, who has been elected to the House of Commons, was sentenced to penal servitude for life for complicity in the Easter rebellion, Sut was granted an amnesty-Aus.-N.Z. Cable A 9300. ENGINEERS AND SHIP- ; BUILDERS. "MB { ACCEPT 47 HOURS' WEEK. Received Dec. 27, 7.35 p.m. London, Dec. 26.
