WORKERS' AXD SOLDIERS' CONGRESS, Received Dec. 27, 7.45 p.m. Rotterdam, Dae. 23 The Congress of SoKlers' and Workers' Councils at Berlin closed amid scenes of tumult and violence None knows how the 460 delegates were elected. Th# place of honor was taken by the council of six with their innumerable secretaries and undersecretaries. The self appointed Ministers quarrelled violently among themselves in public. Received Dec. 27 10.45 p.m. Berlin, Dec. 51, The disturbances have sordewhat subsided, the soldiers and sailors declaring ir.it the trouble is over. The sailors remain in the city, but haw evacuated the ba_!y-hattered palace. STREET FIGHTING CONTINUED RESIGNATION OP EBERT DEMANDED. Received Dec. 28, 2.15 a.m. Copenhagen, Dec. 27. The street fighting continued in Berlin on Tuesday and on to Wednesday morning. It is estimated that 100 were killed. A large number of the Berlin Guards joined, as also did a few of the Republican Guards. A groat number of armed civilians continue to jf>in the sailors. The latter occupied the Koenigstrasse its far as the town house. The Spartacuu elements, who are supporting the sailors, demand the resignation of the Ebert Government, and favor one constituted by Ledebonr and Lie'bknecht. The latter held a lengthy conference with Ministers at the Chancellor's Palace, but the result is not disclosed. Further fighting is feared, as the Spartacusers and sailors have decided to compel the Guards to return to Potsdam. The latter are now stationed at the Unter den Linden and Werder Schendlatz.— Australian Cable Assoc.

MINERS' STRIKES. SAXON INDUSTRIES THREATENED. P.eceived Dec. 28, 1.40 a.m. Copenhagen, Dea 24 Fresh strikes of the Silesian miners, organised by Dr. Liebknecht, reduced the coal output to half, also the Rhenish Westphalian output was reduced by the strike. All industries in Saxony are threatened with paralysis withn a fortnight unless the situatiorMa improved.
