SUPPRESSING SEPARATIST DISTURBANCES. ! London, Dec. 20. ! The Daily Express* Madrid correspondent reports that there are seriousseparatist disturbances in Barcelona and Bilbao. The Government has adopted strong naval and military measures. The Mayor of Barcelona has been courtmartialled. King Alfonso received an ovation in Madrid when returning from the military manoeuvres. ! The Exchange Telegraph's Madrid correspondent states that Senor Romanones I has gone to Paris at President Wilson's ! request. Britain's friendly intervention will result in Spain being admitted to the peace negotiations. The leader of the Catalonian Independence Party has al6o gone to Paris.—Aus.
