" ARMISTICE EXTENDED. TO JANUARY 17 OR LATER. 1 Wellington, Dec. 20. Sir James Allen has received the following .advice from tlia Secretary of State for tie Colonies:— With reference to my telegram of November 11, liy a convention signed at Treves on December I' 3, the armistice with Germany has been prolonged till January 17, the prolongation to be extended till tlie conclusion of the peace preliminaries if the Allied Governments approve.
The c-xeeution of the uncompleted clauses of tlie Convention of November
11 is to tie.proceeded with and concluded during tlie period of prolongation, in accordance with detailed conditions laid down by the permanent International Armistice Commission on instructions from the Allied Supreme Command. A further clause is added in terms of the cable published on 17th Inst, (the right to occupy the eastern bank of the Shine north of Cologne, if neaoßsary). , V
