Mr. S. A. H. Robb, general secretary of the Y.M.C.A., CJiristchurch, is visiting New Plymouth.

Mr. R. W. Hamerton, for many years town clerk of Patea, who was believedto have recovered from'an attack of influenza, suffered a relapse, and now lies seriously ill from rheumatic fever.

Mr. Chas. Stevenson, dairy instructor, Manaia, has been transferred to New Plymouth. C. de.Nayerne will be read with regret by many students of the Wellington Girls,' High School in the late eighties of the last century. Before her marriage she was Miss Hamilton, and as principal of the school was loved and esteemed by all who cams within tho sphere of her influence. . - •

At a, meeting of directors of the New Plymouth Gas Company a vote of sympathy was passed with Mr. ]?. Dockrill (a director of the company for many years) and Mrs. Dockrill in'their recent bereavement.
