BANN3R MATCHES. NEW PLYMOUTH .DEFEATS WAITARA. A banner match was played at Wattara yesterday between the above clubs, and resulted in a win for the visitors by 16 points. The Waitara green was in excellent order, play being very fast. The improvements made to the riverside club's grounds since last season were eommyited on very appreciatively by the visitors. In the banner competition, Fitzrov and West End met yesterday on the Fitzroy green, which was in excellent condition, though the gusty wind at times made accurate deliveries extremely difficult.
