TROOPSHIP DECLARED CLEAN.
! THE MEN LANDED., By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Dec. 1!>. The returning troopship lias been deilared a clean ship, and the Medical Boarjl proceeds to work this morning. It will probably be berthed this afternoon. The vessel was released from quarantine in time to enable the Base Records stall to commence the demobilisation process at 7 o'clock this morning. The men on board will go mostly to Wellington and Hnwke's Bay. There are a few for the South Island and Auckland, but the bulk of the Auckland men returning this moiith will arrive on December 24. Of the returned draft, comprising 791 officers and men, 7SO have been passed fit and been given Christmas leave. They lauded this afternoon The remainder comprised three hospital eases, three cot cases and five V.D. cases. Further information regarding the infectious disease on the troopship with draft No. 200 shows that there were 14 cases of doubtful influenza during the voyage. The men had been inoculated against influenza before embarkation. When the steamer arrived there was only one mild case, it being doubtful. If it was influenza it certainly was not of the virulent type recently experienced. ; .
