ATTACK ON MR. DANIELS. UNITED STATES THE WINNER OF THF. AVAR. 1 New York, Dec, IC. The Washington correspondent of the New York Times states that Mr. Poindextcr, in a speech assailing Mr. Secretary Daniels,.who a few days ago said the United States ought not to seek indemnities from Germany, declared that Mr. Daniels did not represent Republican opinion in the United States. In his opinion many people in the United States differed from Mr. Daniels. The United States was the winner of the war and was entitled to justice. Under international law she should demand the cost .of hostilities. It w.m.s the Government's duty to assert the interest of the people of the country, and i.hose interests dcEiaud.'.d that the United States should be reimbursed for the tremendous expenditure and eoct of the war.
