Wangahui, Last Night The Wanganul Borough Cotracil rer solved to-night to endorse the recent re-' solution of the South African Veterans' Association, urging that the Government i take timely ateps to ensure, the proper transport of returning soldiers, in order that such cases as that of the troopship Britannic, at the end of the South African War, be avoideel, and that, In particular, the overcrowding of transports, be strictly guarded against, notwithstanding any extra .expense such policy may entail. The council also agreed to the South, African deputation's Truest.to,circularise local bodies, asking them also to, endorse the resolution, and to notify the' Government of same. The matter" was also submitted to the Returned Soldiers' Association, which has forwarded it to headquarters in Wellington, strongly recommending that the South Africans! representations be endorsed and pressed upon the attention of the Government.

The trustees are instructed to realise from the residue of ~the estats sufficient to pay certain expenses and,the legacies, and to hold the reinamdor in trust absolutely for Norraan Rutherford.
