S.S. DEVON.

vIKRIVES AT WAITABA. The 6.5. Devon, which sailed from Sydney for Waitara- direct in order to load frozen meat, arrived in the roadstead about 6 o'clock on Saturday evening The vessel brings 20 passengers fpr New 'Zealand and also a large mail. Early yesterday morning the port health officer; went out from Jfew Plymouth and inspected the passengers and crew, with the result that, the vessel wai granted a clean bill of health. The passengers were landed at Waitara about a p.m. yesterday, being met at the, wharf-by'Mr. R- I>. Eyre, Collector of Custdrns for Taranaki.
