Attention was drawn by the Awatuna Dairy Company to the insanitary and unsatisfactory condition of the Auroa Road? near the factory. The engineer stated that the trouble arose out of a previous complaint. The rood had been widened a bit, but a quantity of stone secured by the company had been left by the roadside and prevented the water getting away. The factory had no culvert and would give nothing towards same, and the water at the crossing was creating a pool. After some discussion it was resolved to leave, the matter to the chairman, Cr. Barker, and the engineer to see what could be done. The engineer, Mr. R. D. Toswill, reported on work done during the month, including repair of damage done by flood.. He recommended the closing down of all road work from December 24 till January 2.—Adopted. The applications for pipe crossings were granted. A vote of thanks was passed to the Borough Council for the use of the municipal chambers to hold the meeting.
