INGLEWOOD.
THE BISHOP'S VISIT. j (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Bishop of Auckland visfted Inglewood on Thursday and administered the | rite of confirmation to 11 males and 16 females. The vicar (Rev. E. L Harvie) presented the candidates, and the Ven. Archdeacon Evans acted as chaplain. The Bishop's address was listened to with marked attention. It was taken from the words, "I press towards the mark," and will not soon be forgotten by those who heard it. After the service an adjournment was made to the Parish Hall, where an address was presented to the Bishop on the occasion of iiia silver wedding. At the request of the vicar, Mr. F. Brown, as parishioners' warden, made the presentation, accompanied by an excellent speech of congratulation and loyalty. The Bishop acknowledged the gift and voiced his appreciation. He also expressed his pleasure at the signs of proToss he saw in the parish and the pleasure It always gave him to come there. Archdeacon Evans also spoke and congratnlated the Bishop on the attainment of his silver wedding.
