THE EX-KAISER.
RESERVING HIS DEFENCE. Received Dec. 12, 2.5 p.m. London, Dec. 11. The ex-Kaiser, in response to the Daily Express' Amerongen correspondent's invitation through Count Bentir.ck, has sent the following message: "Tell the correspondent that if there is a possibility of my becoming dofendant I prefer deferring my statement until then. I don't desire to compromise any member of the Government existing at the outbreak of war."—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. LILLE MOTHERS TAKE ACTION Received Dec. 12, 8.V5 pm. Paris, Dec. 11. A group of mothers at Lille are endeavoring to secure the prosecution of the ex-Kaiser on the ground that German officers abducted their daughters and distributed them amongst the German soldiers.—Aus.
