The unprecedented number of candidates include 580 Coalitionists, oi wnom 456 are Unionists and 125 liberals. The naaindtr of the candidates are Laborttea and Independents; 270 Liberals oppose Coalitionists.
There an numerous triangular contesta, which are due to the plethora of Laborites, numbering 400 of various shades, tad'lndependents, including the NationaJ .Party and the Discharged Soldiers' Federation. There are 14 women candidates.
