A deputation from the Returned Soldiers' Association conferred with members of Parliament this morning regarding a request that retrospective allowances be paid to the early married volunteers, to place them on the s&me footing financially as the later recruits. The deputation's speakers had a favorably hearing. One of the delegates, referring to tho gratuity sc-heme of the Expeditionary Forces Amendment Bill, asked the 'Minister whether even-handed justice would be done first to the early volunteers before the benefits were given to those who had already enjoyed the advantage of the later improved scales.
