GERMANY ENTERED. BY BELGIANS AND AMERICANS. Received Dee. 4, 11.35 p.m. London, Dec. 3. A Belgian communique states: Our advance is proceeding methodically. The cavalry entered .Juliers, and the infantry reached the Aix la Chapelle—Eupon line. Calm reigns in the occupied localities An American communique states: The Third Army reached the terich—Rievenich'—Morscheiz—Hirschfeldorf line. Our troops have occupied Treves,—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc. and Renter.
AMERICANS IN GERMANY. A SULLEN RECEPTION. . New York, Dee. 3. Mr. Edwin James, telegraphing from Treves, states that the population of Treves greeted the American army of occupation with sullon and glowering mien. There were no flags or cheers, and but few tears. Among the crowds watching the Americans were men with silk lmts, officers in splendid uniforms, women with furs and others in ragged clothes. There were many children. The people looked prosperous and the shop windows were weil filled.—Ana. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
