ALLIED FORCES CROSS THE FRONTIER.
PROCLAMATION BY MARSHAL
New York, Dec. 2.
Major-General Dic-kman's army has entered Germany along the Saar river.— Aus. X.Z. Cable As?oc.'
London, Dec. 2. Forty British divisions are ready to enter Germany. Sir Douglas Haig reports: Advanced troops of the Second Army, commanded by General Plumer. crossed the German frontier between Beho and F.upen and reached the general line Burgreuland, Bulligen, Montjoie. An American communique reports: The 3rd American Army crossed the German frontier and reached the general line Alfersterg, Winterseheld, Muelbach, Treves, and Saarsburg. A Belgian communique states: The Royal family entered Liege at the head of the troops that defended the town in 1914.
A Belgian cavalry brigade entered Aix-la-Chapelle at the request of the German authorities. —Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter.
Marshal Foch has issued a proclamation to the inhabitants of Rhenish Prussia enjoining strict obedience and warning the people against hostile acts. with the penalty of eourt-martialling. —• Aus. X.Z. Cable Assoc.
THE KING IN FRANCE.
UNBREAKABLE BONDS OF ALLIANCE. London. Dec. 9. The King, in thanking President Poincare for France's welcome, said he regarded it as an appreciation of the Empire's effort in the common cause. Henceforth the bonds will be unbreakM. Poincare replied that France would be faithful to the alliance in peace as in war.
