ITS ACCOUSTICS CONDEMNED.

A committee of members had been m existence during the recess, but the members stated that they had been told tacir function was purely advisory . Tlie Minister insisted 'that the acoustic properties were a matter of chance, and lie indicated his intention of doinovarmus things will, drapings and but the House was not satisfied, and Mr Anderson (Mataura) moved that the legislative vote should be reduced by £1 as ™ indication that the committee ought to' have authority to order the needed improvements.
