A DISASTROUS EXPLOSION.

* Glsborne, Nov. 27. A terrific explosion occurred at J. .(. Xiven anil Co.'a engineering works this evening. -lack Fraser (the leading moulder), Miliums (it'moulder) and Murray and his m>ii (aged !>) were seriously injured. S. Veral had an extremely narrow cEcape. The'force of the explosion knocked ornaments oil' shelves in a house five hundred yards invny, mid shook all buildings within a mile radius. The men were enftaged in making a big easting for the dredge John Townlcy, and when the cupola wan opened there was a general explosion, the cause of which is not really known. Iron stanchions in the platform around the cupola were torn out, while the gfllvtmi&od Iron in a wall forty yards away was twisted,
