WAR-TIME PROFITS BILL, • '

Melbourne, Nov. 28. The Treasurer, iu introducing the Amending War-time Profits Bill stated that, in view of the necessities of the Treasury and the circumstances of certain businesses, it was considered that these profits were a legitimate source of revenue. The Bill increases the number of exemptions, including shipbuilding and mining industries, other than coal, and makes concessions in regard to the investment of new capital. The Bill is retrospective to July 1, 1016
RESULTS OF QUARANTINE.
Received Nov. 28, 0.3D p.m. Sydney, Nov. 28. The deaths at the • quarantine station _ now total 20. A large number of medicals and soldiers ore ill, including 50 Italian reservists.
The Riverina has been released and the troops disembarked.
No extension of the epidemic is reported outside the quarantine area.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assoc.
