SALE OF SURPLUS WHEAT.
Melbourne, Nov. 20.
The heated controversy in the press concerning the contradictory statements as to whether Mr. Hughes sold tthe surplus wheat to Britain has been settled by Mr. Watt's announcement that a cable had been received from London indicating t&ai it was impossible to effect any sales of wheat in England at present.
